For the second week in a row the racers and fans at Ocala Speedway were greeted by clear and cool weather, making for a comfortable night for watching exciting racing action.
A good gathering of race cars were there as well, including Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, Mini Stocks, and Gladiators. In addition to the regular racing divisions the Florida Mini Sprints were in the pits and ready to debut on the new Ocala clay.
The Tampa Bay Area Racing Association Winged Sprint Cars were out in force as 23 of the high-powered machines checked into the pits. Hard luck Bo Hartley had yet more engine problems and was trailered before the end of hot laps. Wayne Reutimann, Jr., a winner here in USCS competition earlier in the year, made contact with Gary Gimmler in heat one and hit the turn two wall ending his evening early as well.
