Mother Nature Forces Sunday Racing at Ocala Speedway

by Dave Westerman

Persistent rain showers ahead of a slow-moving weak cold front have forced Ocala Speedway track officials to move Friday evening’s scheduled racing program to Sunday afternoon, April 27th.
Pit gates will open at 12 noon with grandstand gates opening at 1:30PM.

Steven A. Bagen Super Late Model qualifying will take place at 3PM followed by the 50-lap K-Country Street Stock special and Mini Stock feature postponed from last week. After the WIND-FM Modifieds qualify, there will be six regularly scheduled features run with the Super Lates going for 50 laps, with action also in the Modifieds, Mini Stocks, Street Stocks, Diamond H Air & Heat Sportsman, and Four Cylinder Stocks. No heats will be run.

Racing legend Dick Anderson of Wildwood is ending a six month “retirement” and will debut his new race car Sunday afternoon.
Anderson is challenging all comers to see if they can beat “the old guy” at his home track.
