Clem Claims David Mills Open Victory at Ocala

(Eastaboga, AL – July 27, 2026) – Ocala Speedway hosted the annual David Mills Open on Saturday night with a strong field of 20 CRUSA Dirt Late Models and 10 CRUSA Street Stocks competing under the lights. Fans were treated to an exciting evening of racing as Tyler Clem and Seth Geary captured victories in their respective CRUSA divisions.

Starting from the pole position, Tyler Clem wasted little time establishing himself as the driver to beat in the 25-lap CRUSA Dirt Late Model feature. The C02 machine paced the field from the drop of the green flag and never looked back, surviving challenges throughout the event to secure the prestigious David Mills Open victory.

Christian Augspurger advanced from the sixth starting spot to finish second after an impressive drive through the field. Blake Clouser rounded out the podium with a solid third-place effort, while Matt Herlong crossed the stripe fourth. Sonny Thompson charged from 10th on the starting grid to complete the top five with one of the race’s strongest performances.

Waylon Haynes finished sixth ahead of Justin Dean, who gained six positions to claim seventh. James Haynes was eighth, while Gavin Johnson earned Hard Charger honors by advancing from the 19th starting position to finish ninth. Kevin Strife completed the top 10.

Griffin Jones finished 11th, followed by Augie Burttram, Brandon Yates, Bill Adkins, Dylan Dunn, Jeff Scofield, and Dustin Beckelheimer. The feature also saw Jason Garver and Dustin Carter disqualified following post-race inspection, while Colin Strife was unable to start the event.

The CRUSA Street Stocks provided another entertaining feature as Seth Geary worked his way around early race leader Heath Walker to score the 20-lap feature victory. Geary’s win came after starting alongside Walker on the front row and holding off a determined challenge over the closing laps.

Walker settled for second, with Jason Gamble finishing third after starting fourth. Chris Livernois came home fourth, while Jeff Conyers rounded out the top five.

Patrick Mennenga made an impressive climb from the 10th starting position to finish sixth, followed by Justin Rodgers, Roy Crain Jr., Brad Langford, and Arren Alvarez.

Heath Walker opened the evening by capturing the six-lap Street Stock heat race over Geary, Livernois, Gamble, Alvarez, Rodgers, Conyers, Crain Jr., Langford, and Mennenga.

Ocala Speedway returns to action on Saturday, August 8, with the annual Weiner Nationals: Dog Days of Summer Race. The family-friendly event will feature the Best Dressed Dachshund Contest, Fastest Dachshund Race, along with a full racing program featuring CRUSA Street Stocks, CRUSA Late Models, CRUSA Dirt Late Models, Factory Stocks, Mod Lites, and 4.6 Crown Vics.
